My Deepavali Sweets and Savouries ( Kaarams or namkeens) recipes

With the great indian festival of Diwali/ Deepavali coming up, I know that you all will be getting ready to celebrate the festival with great cheer and good health.

Diwali is a festival that is celebrated all over india and by Indians all over the globe. It is a festival of lights that is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil. The celebration is filled with making sweets and savouries at home and distributing them to friends and family.

We, usually, do not buy them but make it at home and distribute to near and dear ones every year and that completes our Deepavali celebrations.

SWEET AVAL

Hi friends,
Sweet aval/ poha is a common recipe made as a Prasadam or an offering to god. It is supposed to be one of lord krishna’s favourites. 
Ingredients:
  • Aval / Poha / flattened rice flakes - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 3 tablespoons 
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon 
  • Freshly grated coconut - 3 tablespoons 
  • Milk - 1/4 cup
Method:
  • Wash the rice flakes in water
  • Transfer it to a mixing bowl 
  • Add the milk and sugar
  • Mix well
  • Add the cardamom powder and freshly grated coconut 
  • Give it a gentle stir
  • Serve
