Masala Pori / Spicy Murmuri (Puffed rice) is a very easy and simple indian snack recipe. It is a low calorie snack and hence an ideal snack for the weight-watcher and for diabetics. It can be made easily at home and can be relished as an evening snack especially during the monsoon.

INGREDIENTS:
- Pori / Puffed rice / Murmuri - 1 cup
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 tsp
- Garlic - 3 cloves finely chopped
- Red chillies - 3 nos
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida-1tsp
- Curry leaves - a handful
- Oil - 3 tsp
METHOD:
- Heat oil in a wok / kadai
- Add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, red chillies, and chopped garlic
- Saute well till the garlic turns brown
- Add the turmeric powder
- Add the curry leaves
- Saute well
- Add the Puffed rice
- Mix well
- Remove from the stove
- Allow it to cool
- Store in an air-tight container
The airtight container I use for storage depends on the amount that I need to store. Accordingly, I use one of the containers, the links for which are given below:
Tupperware Plastic Container - 1.7 Litres
Tupperware - Within Reach Canister 840ml
Glass Container (400 ml) with Rust Proof Air Tight Lid
Matki Glass jar with Airtight Metal Lid - 500 ml
