CHICKEN 65 BONELESS

Hi friends,
Chicken 65 is one of the favourite starters in the non-vegetarian cuisine of Tamilnadu, the southern state of India. It is a dish relished by people of all ages. It can be prepared at home with a little effort.



Ingredients:
  • Chicken - half kg, boneless, cut into medium size pieces 
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon 
  • Curd - half cup 
  • Red chilli powder - 2-3 tsp, depending on the level of spiciness required 
  • Egg - one, only the white part of the egg to be used
  • Corn flour - 1 tbsp 
  • Turmeric powder - one and a half teaspoon 
  • Garam Masala - half a teaspoon 
  • Juice of half a lemon, medium sized 
  • Oil for frying 
  • Salt to taste

Method:
  • Clean the chicken with running water, salt and 1 tsp of turmeric powder 
  • Keep aside 
  • Heat oil in a kadai (wok) 
  • Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder(1/2 tsp), red chilli powder, chicken and salt 
  • Toss well 
  • Add curd and remove from fire 
  • Now, add corn flour, white of an egg, Garam Masala and lime juice 
  • Mix well 
  • Keep the marinated chicken in the refrigerator for half an hour 

  • After half an hour, remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator 
  • Heat oil in a kadai 
  • Drop the chicken pieces one by one and fry them in batches

  • Remove from Oil 
  • Serve hot with slices of onion and lemon



Tips:
  • While adding the chicken pieces in the oil, make sure that you have drained the excess water and then add it
  • Slightly prick the chicken pieces with a fork to facilitate the marinade to get deeper into the substance of the chicken before placing it in the refrigerator.
