Hi friends,
Raw mango sweet pachadi is a good accompaniment to be had with south-Indian dishes such as sambar and rasam or with north-Indian dishes such as Phulka roti, chapathi or poori.
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- Raw mango - 1, medium sized, grated
- Onion - 1, medium sized, finely chopped
- Green chilli - 1, slit vertically
- Jaggery - 1/3 cup
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Jeera or cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Split urad dal - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - as required
- Curry leaves - a few
Method:
- Heat oil in a Kadhai
- Add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, split urad dal and curry leaves
- Add the green chilli and chopped onions
- Sauté well
- Add the turmeric powder and salt
- Sauté for a minute
- Add the grated raw mango
- Sauté for another minute
- Add about half a cup of water
- Cook in the Kadhai covered with a lid for about five minutes
- Remove the lid from the Kadhai
- Add the jaggery
- Mix well
- Keep stirring till the desired consistency is reached
- Serve with Phulka roti or poori or sambar rice or rasam as part of a meal.
