Hi Friends!
With Ganesh Chaturthi coming up, am posting this blog with humble greetings to the lord of good beginnings, Lord Ganesha.
I shall share my recipes of his favourite kozhukattais! They are basically sweets made from rice flour and jaggery on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, especially in south India.

INGREDIENTS
- Processed Rice flour - 1 cup
- Jaggery - 3/4 cup
- Water - 2 cups
- Coconut (chopped into small pieces) - 1 cup
- Cardamom (Elaichi powder) - 2 tsp
- Ghee (Clarified butter) - 1 tbsp
METHOD:
- Melt Jaggery in water
- Strain it to remove the impurities
- Add it to a pan and start boiling it
- Add Ghee (clarified butter), cardamom powder and the chopped coconut
- Once it boils, simmer the flame
- Add rice flour slowly
- Mix well to avoid lumps
- Allow it to cool slightly
- Knead it well with your hands
- Grease your hand with a little ghee or clarified butter
- Take a small portion of it and press it between your greased palm and fingers to get the desired shape
- Place it in a steamer and cook for 7-10 minutes
- Once it’s ready, remove it from the steamer
- Serve
